Londyn is our first truly mischievous child. If she is quiet, you can bet she is into trouble. You better find her...and fast! For the first time in our 6 years of child-rearing, cabinet locks have become a significant part of our home. I keep telling myself that this is good because she is just "independent" and "free-thinking" and "creative" and "resourceful" and "artistic" and that she has "great problem-solving skills." But if I'm really honest with myself, I regrettably resign to the idea that this is most likely the beginning of years of pay-backs for the many debts my husband and I incurred as a result of all the rotten and sneaky and crafty things we did when we were young. We better get on our knees...and fast!
Just a few examples...
1. Here were the homemade hot cocoa mixes I carefully made as Christmas gifts for the kids' teachers and friends:

And here they are after I finished taking that picture and briefly left the room to put my camera away:

2. Maintenance workers were in our apartment asking me about the performance of our water heater. Meanwhile, a busy 2-yr-old saw her chance to begin preparing for her career as an abstract artist:

These wall photos were taken after several attempts (including magic eraser, bleach, fantastic, dawn, oxy, etc) at removing the artwork...

3. On our recent trip to Pamma's, she was spotted getting into this exact jewelry drawer, and unfortunately we have yet to find the expensive bracelet that used to reside there:

They're only young once, right? That's what I keep reminding myself and reminding myself...
